There isn't much to say about me, but I check ModDB frequently for my favorite mods, I enjoy modding as a hobby, and I like to dabble in many different activities.

I suppose when I posted that last one I was just a bit excited about learning something (even if it was just a couple of boxes. This is what I've been working on for the past couple weeks. Most days I don't get a chance to load it up at all, and when I do I can only work on it for about an hour. This is nowhere near done, and I just thought I'd post it up to get some constructive criticism about it. I'm still relatively new, but I'm happy with how I'm learning Hammer. What do you guys think? (I didn't have enough time to run this and get a screen in-game. I'll try to do that soon.)
I find the dirt far too deformed. It would look fine even flat.
The supports at the top do however make it look like a castle, but that may change when you add something above there. Mesh it up! A few bushes are a good start!
I always hated valve textures though :P
I was going for a more old-styled look there with the wall pieces, but I'll have a look at some reference photos for older architecture (early 20th century) and I'll see what I can do there.
As for the Valve textures, I'm just practicing and learning for now. If I ever get more serious then I'll definitely use custom textures.
Thanks for the crit. I'll see what I can do.
