Actually. . . You need to enable hidden files and folders first! Do that via the control panel / folder options. Then when you go into your username folder there will be a folder called "App data". Open that up and then there should be one called "Roaming" if you are using vista. In that is the .minecraft folder!

I wasn't sure on what to do for the ores. Was thinking in the style of the shoal salt / shells from Ruby and Sapphire. I was aiming to restyle the overworld mainly but I will continue to add more :)

Just had a look. There are cheat mods to do this but I feel that would be too much work for people who just want a different skin. Although I have seen that Notch plans to redo water so it MAY become easier :P
