I'm working on it now. School had me busy but I have been working on it again. Expect to see it in the next update. :)
I believe it was a mistype as this is a Bacta Tank set up inside Echo Base.
Part of the problem was I didn't have the time to get the UV map as good as I would have liked to have gotten it which made a lot of sections that needed more detail to be far too small in the UV map. There's a lot I would change if I get the time to go back and edit it. The diffuse and spec maps do need a lot of work.
We don't want to get that cease and desist email. :P

Got it under 1,200. Were I to go through it again I could probably get i t even lower but due to time constraints that's what it ended up being.
This is the >1200 poly helmet after a normal, diffuse, and spec map. All the maps were 1024 and had I more time I would have fixed some issues with the unwrap to get more detail out of that resolution. There are many things I would like to go back and touch up.
About 80k polys for this high poly model. Used it for baking out a normal map for the low poly version.
How exactly does Quake mess with textures? Never worked with importing models/textures into it.
So the fact it's my first gun model means the rest of the models which have turned out descent aren't any good? It's not like I just started modeling yesterday, I just need to adjust the way I approach making models.
I did. Got bored during school and made it. I realized the mistake I had made that wonderboy commented on but didn't have time to change it. Thanks for the comments.
Yea, this texture was made by myself so its not made by someone who is skilled using photoshop. Should have a texture getting started on it pretty soon.
Haha, yea. Don't think I'm talented enough to make a realistic hay image. Don't know enough about photoshop to do it at least.
Newest update I have for the claymore. I have a texture being created for it now so I should have that up sometime soon.
It wasn't from a photo. They used photoshop tools to make a metal texture from scratch. Other tools were used to make the rest. I can ask them the next time I talk to them and see if any photos were edited to make the texture.

Actually it wasn't. I know the person who made it using photoshop and a metal texture they made them self.

Yea, I just threw this together this morning once i finished making the box. Once a few of our guns get textures on them ill throw it together to get an idea how it might look cycling through them.
I've updated the texture to add some more details. Mod_Dylan, do you mean the rectangle is the wrong shape compared to the original box?
Textures aren't my strong point so the textures on most of my models are just there to give an idea of what the finished product may look like until we find someone who is a talented 2d artist.
Yea, the first one was more of a test run. It had far too many tris and i think once this one is textured it will look a lot better.
Ok, thanks for the criticism and help. It's my first time doing low poly models and it's really helpful. I'm glad at least some people are taking this game seriously.
