You're right verifing Multiplayer SDK's files didn't help as well as multiple downloads of the mod files.
When I try to create local games my machine becomes unresponsive and nearly freezes, but will never load.

The research I did on this error revealed that it is most likely the result of a corrupted file, as the best solution for Source Engine games that produced this error was to verify the game files.
I did it and the only issue I still phase is the insecure mode error when I try to connect to any server. Other games work perfectly well.
I just realised that the version you uploaded as the full Linux version is also only an update!

Half Life Death Match works without problems.
I think it's a problem exclusive to Double Action.

After starting the Mod, I can only see a really small window in front of the Half Life DM like main menu. I can't get the window to resize to see its content and I'm unable to connect to a server (insecure mode).
I personally prefer the look and feel of the source engine over every other engine, but I'll prefer a finished mod in an engine i hate (i don't like the look and feel of unity at all) over an unfinished mod, produced in the engine i love!

I don't think this would be a big problem. The "gatekeepers" should be hard to kill of course. Maybe it would be an option that they could only be killed by an assassin type of soldier like the assassins in Stronghold Crusader.
These assasins could also serve as spies or an existing spy unit could also do this task.
What about making the gates only usable if they are manned by some (maybe two) soldiers that operate them?
The enemy should be able to kill these soldiers in order to stop the gate from operating. => It will stay the way it is (opened or closed) and can't be opened or closed anymore until it is manned again.

Mods should be free, indies should/can be payed. I think it's simple as this. Donations for mods are possible of course. :)
Wouldn't the backgroundstory make more sense if the game was a stealth type of shooter (as the Terrorists would probably blow up the reactor sarcophagus instantly, if they get attacked and not all of them are instantly neutralized)?
