Finarfin!
Kill the strawheads! *fanmade LOTR quote*
Is that Ragnar from Viking the TV show? He looks badass!
And after that Rohan? After the 6 other factions?
Boromir: "What is this new devilry?"
Gandalf: "A big.file limit problem... This foe is stronger than any of you! MODIFY IT! "
Aragorn: "Gondor calls for aid!"
Theoden: My thoughts and prayers are with Gondor. Sending positive energy their way."
*changes profile pic and filter*
By Elbereth! That's a hefty amount of settlements. But I noticed something: where is Calembel?
Gondor will face Mordor, Isengard, Misty Mountains...
"Saruman attacks from Isengard, Sauron from Mordor. The fight will come to Men on both fronts. Gondor is weak. Sauron will strike us soon. And he will strike hard. He knows now we do not have the strength to repel him."
Hahahaha that would be a nightmare even the mighty would fear xD
How much towns and settlements are you planning to do? Do you want to make up some towns and villages in rather "empty" areas, such as Eastemnet, or will you strictly follow the lore?
For instance, the Angle is a Dunedain settlement, but will it come as a village?
I will make a reenactment of the Batlle of Bree, with Hobbits and Men of Bree defending fiercly their peaceful meadows against Saruman's minions! :p
"Urr durr u dead becoze ur mod is inactive for 3 stinky dayz. Also u r a thief"
Saruman has poisoned his mind xD
I really like the spellbook changes! It looks like the battles will be even more intense and uncertain :p
Super91 : "random images from the internet" ?!
You must be tripping....
"If you're having patience issues I feel bad for you Little One, I got 99 screenshots but a moan ain't one! "
The last screenshot we got was barely from 3 three days ago! No need for an update when we got explicit renders that say it all! :p
I know my friend, it is just to show the logic behind my statement ^^
"A day may come when the people stop asking for a release date, when we just enjoy every little new bit of news, and admiring the work done by the devs, but it is not this day! This day, we asked for a rushed release!
An hour of glitches and broken dreams when the Age of the Ring comes falling down, but it is this day! This day, we wait!"
That's why AotR team is taking their time. The longer they take, the better the mod will be! I'd rather wait for a whole year or so for a clean beta rather than a rushed one.
Dorwinion could be the secret faction. But it could be just Evil Men if we stick to the logic, if they come to split it like Rohan and Gondor.
I wish we had much more stuff about Rhûn and Harad as much as we have for Western men.
There are plenty of possibilities! Im sure the devs will surprise us, like they always do.
War chariots AND kataphracts of course :p
I know, but my main comment was more linked with Edain's logic. I don't think they plan to make two evil men factions, for the reasons quoted above.
As far as I know, Harad could be a strong faction made up of tribes, desert men or even Variags from Khand and Corsairs from Umbar. Rhun would serve as a heavy hitter. They could use mini factions like RJ mod did.
Concerning Dorwinion: it is even more mysterious. There was a mod, Wars of the East, that add the Avari, the Cuivienien, Hildorien Men, some Dorwinion units too. It could be completely original, neutral. Unfortunatly, BFME isnt TATW, and allies/ enemies/ neutral doesnt work the same.
I'd love to have Wainriders (or their descendants) if there's an Evil Men faction. Let them wreck chaos among Gondorian ranks!
Will Harad use the original voices from the base game? Or will you make up new ones?
Balrog_of_Morgoth: as I said, it is more a matter of balance, as Edain team is looking for.
Rhun did almost defeat Dale and Erebor yet there is little amount of description about them. The only short description we have is in the Fellowship of the Ring book. Even Harad is poorly described. Their role is important yet we have not much about them on the War of the Ring. Hence why a single faction would be good. If I follow your logic, then Dale should get its own faction. Their role is important, protecting Erebor and Mirkwood from Rhun. Yet they are a subfaction.
Rohan and Gondor have a much more dominant role in the books and the movies. Not to mention: they have actual descriptions, heroes and captains. Risk is to have two glass factions that could potentially behave like Rohan and Gondor... no need for.
But if someday the devs decide to make two Evil Men factions, then I'll change my mind.
If you want to downvote me, fine. I ain't asking for people to agree with me. I just gave my opinion, among thousands here.
I don't think Harad and Rhûn sould be separate. I know many of you think about the splitting of Rohan and Gondor, but we don't have that much informations about Rhûn and Harad.
That means, more weird unit concepts, more speculations, whereas Edain Mod is trying to find the perfect balance with the respect of the lore. For that, I think Angmar fits this role and a potential "Evil Men" faction is enough. Don't forget having many factions means confusion.
However, Harad could provide light, cheap infantry, cavalry and powerful Mumaks, while Rhûn provides the player heavier cavalry and Khand heavy infantry. Umbar would be useful for plundering ressources, or harass the lonely buildings.
Hovland89, you're flaming when Peter Jackson made some weird fantasies in the movies, yet you're asking for even more absurd stuff from a game that literally destroys the lore imagined by Tolkien?
EVerything's fine. You have plans for each faction. You gave us almost every single faction's roster, which is, in my opinion, a reassuring way to foresee things one after the other.
I had made a little roster a while ago. As Hoar said, it's all about "Harad", Men of the South.
You're welcome! It's why I follow you guys.
