I believe cl_viewbob_enabled should do it, if the command exists.

Unfortunately I don't remember off the top of my head anymore.

Certainly wouldn't hurt. :)

Let us know if you create a translation and we'll be sure to upload it here and as well as on our site over at: www.grey-mod.com

Have you guys downloaded the Steam Pipe fix version or did you get the mod elsewhere?

When we put up a Greenlight page for our next project we will also look into getting Grey on to Steam as well if possible. :)

I came across this gameinfo.txt posted in a few places when searching up Steam Pipe problems but it didn't seem to work in Grey's case.

Unfortunately it seems to no longer properly mount our DLL's when using this. I spent a bit of time messing around with the order it loads and mounts but I was unable to get it to work.

EP2 content is now included in the install since we were unable to get Grey to properly mount it anymore without crashes, missing content, or other issues since the Steam Pipe update.

Grey still requires EP2 though as it still attempts to mount it in the gameinfo file and will likely fail without it.

Yeah, it's too bad. It seems they did *try* to keep some backwards compatibility but unfortunately the Steam Pipe update still broke quite a lot.

It has been fixed in the latest downloads you can find here on Moddb but not through the most 'optimized' methods.

Check out some common errors and solutions over on our forum.

You may also possibly find the solution in this thread: Grey-mod.com where a few others are having the same or at least a similar problem.

From the Source emailing list it sounds like it's an error with Valve's latest Source engine update. Hopefully they should fix it soon.

Alternatively, try opting into the Steam Pipe beta which sounds like it may fix it.

Do you have HL2:EP2?

You need HL2:EP2 and HL2 (Although various HL2 games may work for the HL2 requirement) as their files are mounted by the mod and you will have "Error" models and missing textures without them.

Good news is that we do! A part of the Grey team including myself have moved on to a new project.

We hope to take our experience with us from Grey and improve our next project in every way possible.

On our downloads page on our site we have a Russian translation done by Skip3r which can be found at: Grey-mod.com

Using WinMerge or a similar program you should be able to compare his edited to dll to the original to see what parts of the dll need to be changed with a Hex Editor.

If you are trying to change hard-coded text lines then you will need to use a hex editor or similar to edit the dll.

If you mean the images the code displays you simply need to edit the vtf/texture files of what it displays.

Try changing your Steam download location as well as trying to launch it if offline mode.

On top of that make sure you have run both HL2 and HL2:EP2 at least once since they've last updated.

If you would like to describe what you find wrong with it we'll be glad to take consideration of your feedback for future projects.

We make mods for people to have fun while playing it and not for money or profit. We spend countless hours of our free time for others to have an enjoyable experience and if we have failed in some aspect to you, we would love to know in what way.

Sorry, that isn't an option we have. The Source Engine version that is available to us does not allow this.

I do believe it is possible to play it with Wine though.

Some view models are named so that they can easily replace the default HL2 weapons. Some custom weapons aren't though and have animations and names that you will need to decompile and rename to have work.

Quite a few enemies were indeed made with symbolization in mind.

HL2:EP2 is needed.

Your issue sounds unrelated to the need of HL2:EP2 though as Grey should only have a few missing models if you don't have it.

You are missing either HL2, HL2:EP2, or haven't installed one or the other.

Looking at the Russian translation files it does appear Skipe3r changed the font in the clientscheme.res file as well as providing a Russian font in the Resource folder.

It's simply a VGUI image that changes between multiple pre-cached images based upon the players health.

A good reference would be to download the Russian translation for Grey to see all the files that will need to be changed.

Unfortunately some not-too-important lines are hard-coded in the DLL's so you may need to use a hex editor if you wish to change them too.

The main menu is made out of images and clickable buttons. There are no text files for it apart from the Options screen.

The caption files can be found at: Grey\scripts\titles.txt

What type of text files are you searching for? The subtitles? Storyline? Texture info files?
