Validating Existing Files Loop Thread - Desura

ISSUE RESOLVED: I discovered I was having a similar issue on my Windows PC, which lead me to think it was an account issue. I reset my password on the website and relogged into Desura and found th issue has been resolved.

Chalk it up to an account glitch, apparently.

Hi everyone,
I have been usring Desura for a year or so now without issue, but I am currently having this problem where when I try to install a game, I get a popup with the window title Validating Download: [Game], inside the window shows Validating existing files...

9/10 times the system won't get past this. Last night, I even left it overnight and it was still at the same step. The other 1/10 time, it will download and get to 99% before hanging on downloading.

This is currently happening for games I have never played as well as with games I have played before.

My setup:
Linux Mint 64 bit (Ubuntu)
Desura Build: 120.21

Try setting Administrator to yes in compatability options under the launcher if the problem persists

Same issue here with Ubuntu Gnome 13.10, fix with password doesn't work.

I use Ubuntu 13.10 x64, I have the same problem, even tried to reinstall Desura but the problem persists. Fix with password doesn't work with me too.

After a few hours I tried again to install a game and not have the validation loop but the installation crashed after download. After restarting Desura a couple of times installation finally began. I'm really not understanding what the problem is anyway ...

Desura, a little support to users would not hurt...

I've had this issue for most of a year now, rendering Desura essentially unusable. Resetting the password did the trick for me!
