Desura won't find games even after pointing to correct location? Thread - Desura

Ok so first off hello all =D I'm extremely new to the moding community & as such just wanted to thank anyone in advance who may offer some advice. If this is posted in the wrong section please let me know & I will move it asap! Anywhoo, down to business:
I looked through the other posts & the only fix's I found say to do everything I have already tried. Desura doesn't seem to recognize half of the games I own & have installed on steam even after pointing the client to the correct location. I've looked them all up & most should be able to be added to Desura. I have used the "find/add games installed" tool so it would be pointing to the correct locations but it still can't seem to find them. I have just about every Half Life game on steam & Desura finds HL2 & HL2 EP1 but just won't recognise EP2 no matter what I've tried. Their are other games but this is the one I want to focus on & hopefully if I solve this it will help me get the others added. My main issue is that most of the games I download using Desura won't play. I get errors like not being able to access HL2 exe(or crashing)or source sdk 07 & previous issues just to name a few. I can, however, instal these same mods & they work just fine by simply downloading online & extracting to the correct folder. I'm wondering if these issues are related in some way & by fixing one the other will work or at least put me on the right track but I may be way off.
