Another short recommendation - instead of doing work (lol), and when not playing Bean's Quest, I've been having quick blasts of Scoregasm. First up - the Linuxy bit: it works perfectly on Linux (it is also available on Windows & Mac), it worked with my 360 pad straight out of the box, and the graphics are suitably lively and gorgeous - with no problems using the open-source radeon driver (with a 6870). The soundtrack by John Marwin is outstanding - a terrific blend featuring some pumping beats, acid, and rhythmic noise. And then on top of that - the gameplay. I'll let the trailer speak for itself: My only niggle is that the highest resolution is 1680x1050 - 1920x1080 isn't available. It's currently on sale for Because We May, and is only $3.00 (or $4.50 with soundtrack, or $6.00 with soundtrack and three other games - unfortunately I didn't know about these two offers before I bought it just by itself). The developer, Charlie, was also really friendly in communications - and kindly sorted out a Desura key for me after I bought it, so it gets even more plus points for good support. Edited by: ifss |
