although this anime is in my top list, it is a bit sad seeing the new character designs. ):

just why... she turned from badass revy into a girlband idol.
Anime can reach a far wider audience than a manga, and to be honest i had never seen an anime that follows the original manga's plot to the letter Naruto Shippuden is the greatest example of this.
With it's continuously anoying time loops what are going around the series.
manga is much better as the anime is really a watered down kid friendly version free of any real violence or gore which was / is the mangas primary appeal ... its a theoretical military conflict I mean hell when the JSDF 1st crossed the gate and established an FOB they butchered well over 100,000 soldiers of the "empire" with concentrated small arms fire and tanks, mortars, & arty blowing them to bits and pieces.
The character redesigns are also a sore disappointment ... sigh when will they ever learn ... if only we could have gotten the studio behind Elfen Lied or Gantz to make the anime it would be 100 times better than this kid friendly ****.
Most of the audience is made of teens and children so they had to made it less violent because of the censors.
