Are you a 3D artist? Are you looking for some inspiration? Do you just want to collaborate or know who your fellow ModDB artists are? Doesn't matter what application you use or how you do it... if you're a modeller, animator, skinner or looking at getting started with 3D, then this is the group for you!
Just trying on my new sight I just got done making, on my G36C.
More angles of the sight on my profile.
all and all around 14,000 tris.
please give any crits you can.
O_o high detail! And indeed, the model and the texture turned out perfectly :)
It's a pity you're wasting your talents to make weapon models.
It's not like I going to be making weapon models the rest of my life, I made this only to learn and learn I did. Modeling a weapon maybe one of the best/fastest ways to learn I'm my opinion, but now that I got normals down, you will see some different stuff from me.
Merry Christmas.
I understand. It just saddens me to see obsession with the weapons in Moddb, because everybody seems to love making weapons. I can't understand the weapon love. They are made to kill people and that's enough for me to not like them, but that's just me.
Keep up the good work and Merry Christmas to you too.
Well, I totally agree with you :)
I love to make characters, but I just sux at them, so I practice more :)
Merry Christmas.
Yeah you right, the main reason I made it is because I had the airsoft gun and sight to work from and make the job a lot easier. I think I'll work on learning some sculpting next.
Please show me what you can do with 3d coat!
I own several guns in real life and I have never killed anyone (or anything for that matter. Not even an animal). I enjoy target and skeet shooting and I am fascinated by the designs and mechanisms of the weapons.
They also provide a great learning experience for modelling and texturing due to the plentiful supply of reference material (because of the popularity of FPS games).
