From the earliest PadMaps came the mod PadWorld, and now from that distinguished provenance comes the next colourful evolution, the World of Padman. Developed and headed by the professional cartoonist and illustrator ENTE, PadWorld Entertainment, the team behind World of Padman proudly present a free multi player game for Windows, Mac OS X and Linux that's powered by an extended Quake3-Engine based on the source of ioquake3.
WoP is the domain of ENTE's comic strip super-hero bad-boy Padman and his motley crew, and their mission is to make your game with some seriously addictive fun, whatever your skill level and whatever character role you jump into.
Over the years maps have been revamped, bot play improved, killer-ducks kept hungry, weapons re-polished, menu's redesigned and much more, such as new sounds, skins, secrets, effects, and power-ups! In all, there are 23 maps. Each supports up to 7 game types, comprising WoP's unique Spray Your Color (SYC), Spray Your Color Team (TSYC), Last Pad Standing (LPS), Big Balloon (BB) and of course Capture the Lolly (CTL), as well as those old favourites Free For All (FFA), Free For All Team (TFFA). Meet scaled-up and richly detailed maps of everyday places where imaginative characters go berserk with an array of colourful plastic weaponry and power-ups. Start rockin' to the soundtrack of Dieselkopf and Neurological soundtrack and the Pad-Anthem performed by Green Sun, so grab those earphones.
When you visit WoP's web site and the forum be sure to check out the mighty server browser to see who's playing on-line. Install and keep the game updated via Desura digital distribution platform.

Latest News: WoP Community Mapping Contest 2012

We just started our first World of Padman community mapping contest because there are so many nice and well done community maps out there but may get lost one sad day. To avoid this we would like to create a single official community map pack, including all the high quality maps created by community mappers. Another goal is to update some of the old maps that currently are not compatible with World of Padman 1.6. Furthermore we want to include new and unreleased maps which still linger on your hard drive, waiting to be played.
You can submit your maps until the 21st of July. Afterwards, testing and voting by the community starts. As soon as maps are final, sent in and checked regarding requirements and integrity we will upload them to our server, where players can auto-download them. The contest has no special theme or topic, all maps are welcome which you consider suitable to the World of Padman.
All maps will be evaluated in three categories by a judging panel consisting of five members of the World of Padman development team. Furthermore the community can vote for all maps to sway the judging panel evaluation. By August 21st we will finish the community voting and by September 2nd we expect to showcase the best community maps and to release the final community map pack.
We will provide coverage for all map entries. Every map will get its own topic in the WoP editing forum to gather community feedback. We also present the maps in a news post at our website as soon as they are final. It would be best not to wait until the deadline is reached, so send in your maps as soon as possible. Please note the contest rules and pay attention to the requirements section.

I despise the mouse tracking in this game, it doesn't register small movements, which means 0 accuracy for me.

The 64-bit Linux game version beta is outdated? I install this but the desura change log show only "Sep 18 2011, 6:45am - VERSION: 1.5.4" and the game console show ""version" is:"wop 1.5.4_SVN2013 beta". The lastest version is 1.5.5.1. :(
Hi, we asked the Desura guys to update the Linux branches but it seems that they were not able to do that until now. The new files are all there (also Linux binaries), but in the windows branch. We try to avoid uploading the same stuff more times so we upload all to the Windows branch and they copy files to the other branches. We have no tool to do that by ourselves. As an alternative you could register at our forums and download the beta patch from the beta section of the forum. You can apply that on your Desura installation easily. Our you wait a little until WoP 1.6 comes out. ;)
