After successfully purchasing modification rights for the F-35, the Clarion Alliance quickly produced numerous upgrade packages for the JSF that were snapped up by nations wealthy enough to afford them.
Just realised that the F-35X kinda sort resembles the Shinden II from some angles.
Still lacked of variable geometry wings that made it kewler though :V
That was what I first through I was looking at through the thumbnail.
The F-35X looks like a X-29, not that it's a bad thing. It could even go toe-to-toe with the Su-47.
Except not, the Sugoi 47 is a class of her own.

For starters, the Sugoi actually got somewhere. I'm not sure if a F-35X even exists.

As far as my flight experience goes, the Su-47 outclasses the F-35 in all aspects bar air-to-ground work. However, once we give the Lightning weapon bays it should become stealthier than the Berkut.
Yep. 'Specially if you were to compare it to how the F-35 in its prototype self was depicted in Over G Fighters.
TBH, I think the X-29 has a more wasp-like silhouette than the other two fsw fighters. The SU-47 has a sorta big-boned kinda look and the F-35 family has always been a little wren-like. A bit unavoidable, since they have internal weapons carriage.
Now we truly know this is a fictional setting: the F-35 isn't a completely worthless steaming pile of **** there.
Also the fact that you don't have to pay out of the *** to fly one.
