B-52, fitted for long-range air combat. DOET

B-52 was already seen in one of the very early build screenshot, I think (report 3 or 4, I forgot which one).

This will help a lot!

B-52 is in the game, but only in a place holder model. (which is actually one of the reason for the playable bombers are not yet developed)

Everyone, feel free to make suggestions about other types of units. There is always the possibility of some relevant unit was somehow forgotten to be included in the todo list.

Sep 16 2012 Anchor

As an extension to families we currently have, I'll repeat the previous suggestions to the Su-30SM (Thanks to John_Silver, I think this makes more sense than the Su-30MKI) and F-16XL.

For a new aircraft family, what do you think of Dassault aircraft? Mirage and Rafale are typically used in these sort of games.

I saw the Ace Wiki link and was reminded that I would also like seeing the Mitsubishi F-2.

I'd just use this as a wishlist for now.
Acecombat.wikia.com
plus a few planes that got added in 6 and assault horizon, (all I remember are the PAK FA and the Ka-50 helicopter)

No F-4 love? wai

Sep 18 2012 Anchor

I'm not sure, but it looks like all carrier-capable planes (and planes like the Eurofighter Typhoon and YF-17 which have naval variants) are on hold until landing mechanics have been implemented.

Sep 18 2012 Anchor

Since there is a mig-21 there have to be f-4, add to this mig-17, f-105, a-4 and f-100 plus some nice jungle map and you could go full rolling thunder. Or alternatively using desert map recreating Yom Kippur war.

Still disappointed by the lack of F-117. Do both the arcade (standard AC-style with gun and arcade loadout) and 'realistic' version (no gun, VERY limited ammo).

It’s promise, the first stealth aircraft will be the F-117.

But good Idea about making both the realistic and AC style arcade version. But the realistic version only has one bay door with two hardpoints, so no gun nor main weapon.

No, but something like this instead: As it only have 2 hardpoints, it only can fire one standard missile at a time (with halved payload than normal plane?), and the other hardpoint is for SPW.

Why don't you just make the realistic one have SP weapon hardpoints only but give it extra reloads. Even with AIM 9 missiles it wouldn't do well in a serious dogfight.

I have to be honest though, since timesymmetry made that thread about possible helicopter controls, I'm more interested in which helicopters are going to ship with the base game (since the planes people have been suggesting are mostly the usual suspects).

I wish all planes from Ace Combat 3 Electrosphere with color schemes :D

But that's for now. At least I know a guy who made a WORKING R-101 Delphinus in FSX.

All i want is a Spitfire and the messerschmitt me 262

Sep 30 2012 Anchor

Strategic Bombers:
Tu-95 (it has a lot of modifications)
3M
Tu-160
Tu-22M
Tactical Bombers:
Su-17/22
Su-24
Su-34
Ground-Attack aircraft:
Su-25T
Su-39
Fighters:
MiG-23
MiG-31BM
Prototypes:
MiG 1.44
T-50
Yak-141/43

Also, there is a suggestion: Tu-95, 3M and Tu-22M have defensive guns in the rear. If bombers could protect themselves with a gunfire, intercepting them would be more challenging. What do think about this?

Greetings from Russia! ;)

Yeah, you can have defensive guns, and they're extremely accurate (almost too accurate, you can get blown out of the sky while flying perpendicular to a B-52). Surprised you didn't suggest a Tu-160 though.

In the other side, Air Force Delta Strike have wide assortment of planes that either rarely or never used in pretty much every other game (Single engined Flanker? X-36, HiMat, Boeing Bird of Prey? VTOL Su-15? Tailess F-15?, seriously random assortment of Chinese jets? Vector thrusting normal Flanker?, etc)

Those would be quite nice addition as well.

There are a number of fictional planes I would like to see modders add at some point, I doubt the developers will want to spend time and effort on non-existent planes. I suspect I'm not the only person who would like to see the insane, physics defying aircraft of Yukikaze featured eventually. But I also have some more obscure ones that would be fun to play around with, like the fictional F-16 variant from Patlabor 2, that featured thrust vectoring and stealth capabilities. Also the overtechnology enhanced F-14 featured in Macross Zero would be cool. I'd imagine it would just be an F-14 with better stats than any other version.

We only can wait till someone crazy enough to make those mods. But at the moment the modders population still relatively small remembering this is still in Alpha stage.

Also, a bit offtopic......

Just to say, all suggestions are being considered. They are especially helpful to see the planes that you all are interested.

As for fictional fighters, the priority for now is to add real ones, however they will eventually appear when there is the need to test and show a new feature that is not available in any other unit.

Btw, the same kind of thread should be added for helis, because only a handful of them have been decided at this point.
