The Stomping Land is a multiplayer survival game where the player must hunt dinosaurs to survive. Tame dinosaurs, such as the Ankylosaurus, and ride them into battle against the ferocious T.Rex! Use the Star Map to hunt dinosaurs and bring back meat for the tribe. But be careful. With death you lose everything you've worked so hard to obtain.
One of the core technical features of The Stomping Land is enabling large quantities of dynamic AI to work smoothly in a multiplayer setting.
Much of the early days of development was spent nailing down these technical approaches. For this feature, dinosaurs were made to utilize a shared AI with simplified physics, minimizing CPU costs, and only networks the least amount of information possible relevant to the player.
The result is the ability to have huge masses of dynamic AI dinosaurs smoothly flock together while simultaneously navigating around complex terrain, eat food, and respond to threats all in a multiplayer setting.
