"The Center has been a passion project for the three founders of Studio Daisho LLC since its inception."

Hello everybody!

My name is Joshua Fane, and I’m the assistant producer for The Center. You’ll be hearing a lot from me in the coming months, but as this is my first time posting to this blog, I’d like to take a moment to talk about what exactly this project is, what it was, and what we hope (through YOUR support!) it will become.

The Center has been a passion project for the three founders of Studio Daisho LLC since its inception. While their initial work was in composing and producing music for various projects, some of which have been funded through Kickstarter, they found themselves yearning for more creative control over a project of their own. Utilizing a story that Jason Rosa, the company’s president, had previously conceived of, the three started to assemble a team and production soon began. After a somewhat tumultuous period of conceptualization and design, a campaign was launched to fund the game. While the response they received was positive and very encouraging, they decided to pull the campaign prematurely, citing the lack of a comprehensive demo in their cancellation announcement. Unbowed by this setback, however, they embraced the experience and decided to redouble their efforts, vowing to relaunch in the near future.

In a sense, The Center has undertaken a journey of self-discovery quite similar to that of its protagonist. The initial campaign has had a profound effect on the game’s development, and in the months since, the project has been reborn in stunning fashion. The team has doubled in size, the game’s presentation has been given a face lift, the characters have undergone full re-conceptualizations, and the overall development strategy has changed. A new atmosphere of confidence, determination, and creative energy surrounds the project, and I feel extremely fortunate to be able to say that I have shared in it, and even helped to drive it.

My hope is that, in writing to you all, I can share my experiences working on this game and help to illustrate just how far it has come. I can think of no better place to start than with the game’s protagonist, so stay tuned for a first look at the new (and improved) ANU!
