Star-Twine is a strategy game with ambient sounds, stunning visuals and a virtually infinite number of levels to play on. Battles unfold on sprawling three-dimensional maps where you, a small point of light, must build structures to extract energy from the threads that make up the world. Energy can be spent on new structures, each with their own unique abilities. Engage in challenging battles against the reactive enemy AI, or play against others online. Star-Twine lets you explore complex strategies and intense gameplay within a relaxed, atmospheric experience.

Demo
There is also a free demo version of Star-Twine available via IndieDB. The demo has fewer difficulty settings, only one skirmish level, and is single player only.

Looks really great and different from other RTS games. Will try the demo later.
yeah, as I work too much I don't have time to play hardcore games anymore and for some reason these ambient indies seem to really tickle my fancy. Osmos, Eufloria and Auralux are my fav.
Demo is pretty generous too, but playing a mate is pretty cool
