Spellweaver is an online digital trading card game (TCG), created by a self-funded indie team of seasoned game developers with a passion for card games. The game focuses on strategic depth and variety, while still being easy to learn. Many current digital card games lack the inherent depth of the true classics. We believe that depth and variety are of paramount importance to a TCG – of course, combined with some beautiful graphics and frequent updates with new cards.

I was using my pouch of faerie dust today – putting some final little tweaks on the flow of the battles. So I thought, why not show you one of my favorite cards in Spellweaver TCG that also has something to do with faeries? Here it is!

Many players fall in love with every card having the magical “you win the game” phrase in its text. I’m also a big fan of cards that in one way or another profoundly change the rules of the game. The big question is, is this card any good? Can a deck based on Grand Reunion actually win in a consistent manner?

The answer is – it is too early to tell! Yep, even I can’t know for sure, after playing thousands of Spellweaver duels. That’s part of the magic trading card games possess – even for a single deck idea, there are a thousand ways of building the deck. My attempts at building a winning Grand Reunion deck weren’t very successful. But all the time I felt the deck only needed just a little bit of help to be good.

That missing part may finally have arrived, but I haven’t had the chance of trying it yet. When I first tried building this deck, Spellweaver TCG still didn’t have hero skills. In particular, it didn’t have the skill of Ne’eva the Revered - the advanced version of Ne'eva, Child of the Forest.

The Reverence skill allows playing a burst of creatures on a single turn, at a discount, and draw cards in the process. It helps you both find your Faerie, Spirit, Plant and Elf cards – the requirements of Grand Reunion – and play them efficiently. So, maybe it is the missing link this deck needs!

I can’t wait for the Closed Beta so I can try making the Grand Reunion deck work once again. Until then, let me show some beautiful faerie cards for your viewing pleasure.
