Secrets of Grindea is an old-school RPG, with co-op support for up to 4 players. In the world of Grindea everything is determined by one thing - how big you collection of stuff is. You take on the role as a young hero (or heroine) taking his or her first steps to become a famed Collector and help collect the most valuable rares in the entire kingdom! The game features zelda-ish gameplay, but with deep character customization and skill systems. We have no classes; you build your hero from scratch putting skill points in almost anything you want, with no level caps holding you back. We have a lengthy main story with dungeons in all shapes and colors, as well as multiple side-quests and hidden secrets~ All this can be played with up to 4 players co-op, or just by yourself if you're more of a single player guy.

I guess that this is a hot discussed topic in the beta forums, but for those of us who were not lucky to get into the beta or too late, lets talk about what you'd like to see implemented. Maybe some of the suggestions are already being developed and implemented, but's lets discuss it anyway to kill the time :).

1.) I'd like to see more weapon categories than just 1h and 2h, with slightly different attributes. For example a dagger/knife, that has a lower reach than the sword but a bit faster attack rate. Or a spear/lance/pike, that has a slightly larger reach than the claymore, but an even slower attackspeed. As far as I'm aware there isn't much focus on ranged weapons, with only the bow implemented. I'd like to see a crossbow, that has better dmg, but slower reloadtime than the bow and maybe even a glaive that has a ballistic trajectory, like the ranged weapons in SoM.

2.) Some extra coop-stuff. I know that a good game should be fully playable in SP, but I'l like to see some sidequests/puzzles that require 2-4 players. Doesn't have to be gamebreaking, but I'd like to see it.

3.) Speaking of coop: There should be either a little frame in the HUD displaying your group and health/mana/status or a little bar below/above every character. It would be cool if there were abilitys or spells that affect all (nearby) friendly players, some sort of buff maybe. Maybe make spells like a frostshield castable on groupmembers, with a reduced duration/effect to not make it overpowered and limit the maximum possible buffs you can give to another player to 1.

4.) Allusions to the classic games you enjoyed to play. Let the oldsk00l players feel oldsk00l by detecting them.

5.) A bit more magic. A good game should not have too much different spells so you get totally lost, but there should be some variety. At the moment I'm watching Psychos YT video and I think there should be life and death magic, which cancel each other out, so when you pick one you can't pick the other anymore.

I have some more ideas, but will wait for the next gameplay videos before posting them :).

PS: The game looks AWESOME!

I actually like all of your ideas. The game is still far from release but I hope they add some of those things into the game.

As for me the only thing i would like to see in the game is me...........

I'm not in the Beta and I'm unsure of how the cards they've shown us work in terms of gameplay, but what I'd personally like to see is a mini game similar to Tetra Master using said cards, it doesn't need to be a complex game.

There's just something very addicting and soothing about having an active mini-game that you can play and compete with other users, especially if it's based on collectible cards from the monsters you fight.

Just an idea, cheers.

A lot of small or bigger parodies. Hidden or not. I think you'll have fun while adding such things and it gives the game more love even though not everyone is seeing these parodies at all.

I think that's a very good idea. I wouldn't spoof other games, though, just make some allusions to the classic games that inspired you to make Secrets of Grindea.
Edited it in my post.

It would be nice if the card system would be like Ragnarok online, where you can embed them in slotted weapons/gear. But i would also love to see some sort of crafting system like the headgear-quests in RO, but for weapons and armor as well.

Have to disagree at this point. RO is a MMORPG, SoG isn't. A real crafting system isn't necessary in my opinion.

Crafting will take the fun away from what it is, but no hard being able to throw a few items into a magical pool of water and a nice fairy giving us a few of them better haha. sets/collectibles could be interesting having some sort of farm always increases the length to the game but some people obviously like the speedy play through so maybe make the stat increases small but enough for some people to want to farm them?

I think you should add food to it and maybe more lands to explorer and crafting hunting for food and stuff like that .

co op
chatting with people and upgrades for the goop and privet chat

I still don't think that this game needs a serious crafting sytem or even survival stuff like food o0.

I hope that there are more different environment to come, at the moment there's not that much diversity (only wood/snow). I guess there will be some sort of group chat, but imho the game should rather aim for premade groups than internet-randoms, in which case nobody would need a chat because of teamspeak/ventrilo/mumble/skype. I'd rather play with my friends than with somebody unknown from the internet.

I wish this game can pretty make a really good and interactive craft mode, in which we can make some good things to equip, to sell, build and decor. This would be kinda cool!

Ok so I was playing the game and checking out the options and I noticed you can change every single key binding but not escape (which is like the menu and your inventory) so I thought it might be nice to be able to change that like everything else.

Maybe you should discuss that in the beta forum ;)?
