Rigonauts is the fantastical building battle game from Engient. Snap together the ultimate vessel and send your crew of Hobs into battle. With a well designed ship and a clever plan, your crew will smash and blast past an assortment of strange and dangerous foes. Of course no single plan survives the enemy and each tactical tweak will bring you closer to victory.

Really cool concept, easy to learn interface, but I feel it would be way more fun if the game would reward the player for building complex creative devices instead of the most simple, effective ones. By the way, the whole star-system is not so intuitive, I've spent some frustrating minutes until I figured that out.

This game is absolutely terrible. DO NOT WASTE A SINGLE DOLLAR ON IT.

It seems like, 90% of the time, your own guns shoot and damage your own vehicle. The enemy's guns don't shoot their own vehicle, but the player's will.. constantly.. despite rearranging over and over and over.. It really feels like no one even thought to playtest the game.

The game's tutorial is exceptionally annoying and there is no way to turn it off. Oh, you want to retry the mission to get 3 stars?.. Well, you'll have to watch this level's tutorial all over, again.. Oh, your guns are blowing apart your ship?.. Well, you'll have to watch this level's tutorial all over, again.

You don't get to design huge and intricate vehicles. The developer did and you get to fight them.. but, you don't get to have fun.. only he does. You are forced to fight using a very limited amount of guns and parts (or you don't get the full amount of stars) that you design in a very small playing area.

Also, designing a vehicle is a terrible pain. There are no buttons that will rotate parts 45 or 90 degrees; you have to drag and pull parts around without even seeing what angle value the part is at. You can't even change your vehicle's hull. The enemy gets to drive in cool skullmobiles and you're stuck in a crappy looking wooden ship.

On top of all that, this game also has frequent graphical glitches with the bombs. 3/4 of the time, bombs are just a stream of white squares. Every once in a while the game will actually load the graphics for the bomb, but it's pretty rare.

This game would have been better if the developer accepted and acted on feedback.. because who really wants to spend ten minutes building a vehicle to end up watching its own guns shoot it apart?
