Project Grand Vault is a 3rd person action adventure, game with some light rpg elements. The story follows two Treasure Hunters that attempt to move into a new city, only to get caught up in a race to uncover a legendary treasure.

If you've been following along you are probably aware that for Vance (one of the protagonists of PGV)blocking is one of his basic abilities.
When he successfully blocks an attack a visual que for the player is the appearance of these this hex based sheild.
Conversely some enemies the player will encounter also have a similar guard/sheild ability, and their guards will need to be 'broken' before the player can deal some real damage.
