Prehysteria is an open-world, co-op, survival horror game set on a tropical island full of dinosaurs.

Report RSS Prehysteria - Don't Go Into The High Grass!

Just mostly early environment showcases, as well as what you can expect in terms of island size, atmosphere, etc.

The thing that worries me the most about this project is that it won't be scary, and that's why we're working on making our dinosaurs look super menacing, as well as making some really tense environments for the players to explore. Dense jungles, plains covered in extremely tall grass, and more.
That being said I'm always open for suggestions in terms of environments you'd like to see in the game. We're going to have some indoor things as well considering this island did have an entire base on it for engineering these dinosaurs. I won't say why they were engineered, that's for the player to discover from the journal pages that have been discarded around the island.

Tall Grass - Environment Test 002

As it stands right now, the island is about 30km from side to side if I recall correctly. I haven't timed how long it takes to venture from one side to the other, so I might do that later if there's any interest. I won't expect players to survive an entire trek from one end to the other in a single go, but hey more power to you.

Gonna throw in a little video down below too for what you can expect in terms of some of the more tense environments. Just a little environment test/showcase for the open plains area of the island. Tall grass as far as the eye can see.

That being said, you can expect Raptors to be pretty common in the plains. So, be on the lookout if you venture into that area alone. The grass is pretty much up to your chin, and the Raptors are going to be rather stealthy, and hunt you down before you even realize you had an accident. Clever girls all right.

Tall Grass - Jungle

We're also going to be investing a good chunk of development time into making some better environmental assets. Using the core Unity assets right now isn't exactly ideal, so we should have some better looking foliage, rocks, and other assorted goodies coming out soon. I'm excited!

So, hopefully you guys will still be interested in the game and continue to track development & progress on this dinosaur horror game. It won't be free, but I can assure you it's not going to cost you an arm & a leg to dip into. The price will be fairly cheap as most indie games should be.
If you're curious about tracking development to a more frequent status then check out our Facebook page, and Tumblr page. Both will be linked below.

Happy hunting.
