For the ultimate challenge, join an online league and test your mettle against other human players! OOTP 14 is the closest most people can get to being the general manager of a real baseball team. Handle GM tasks like drafts, trades, scouting, waivers, team finances and personnel. Negotiate player contracts. Or, dive into the more hands-on management and set your team's lineups, pitching staffs, and in-game strategy.

OOTP is the deepest baseball simulation out there. Recent versions have worked on optimizing the engine so the game does more, and yet still runs faster than its competitors.
Would have given a 10 or of 10 but being newly registered I can't.
This is the best baseball simulation available. If you like the stats of baseball and managing your own baseball organization then this game is for you. But if you are looking for an arcade type simulation look elsewhere. This is a thinking man's game. Love the depth and detail.
I play primarily in on-line fictional leagues with as many as 27 other people but you can do very in-depth seasons going back to the beginning of the game using any player that has ever played Major League baseball. Alternatively you can create a league with totally fictional players, set the rules how you wish, and play and unlimited number of seasons. You can configure almost everything and create the baseball universe that you have only fantasized about. You play the game your way!
