Koya Rift is an action-packed platform shooter that is built around circular gameplay; which emphasizes heavy replayability by feeding the player a stream of short term goals that don’t end. In Koya Rift, the player must enter a hostile planet and destroy an alien race so the planet can be colonized. Each round, the player is dropped off at the surface and must venture into procedurally generated caves, earning upgrades and buying units as he goes along. The difficulty adjusts precisely to the skill of the player over time, providing them with a consistent challenge.

New Steam/Desura portal IndieBundle.org enters its Open Beta, where special deals, hot offers and great games are waiting for you! For the first 50 IndieDB users, enter the code "IndieDBRocks" and get a bonus 10% off!
In a sea of game bundle sites, what's the big deal about one more? The approach of IndieBundle is a different. We focus on three things for both the developers and the players: incentive, value and consistency.
With a set price for Desura games at $5 and Steam at $10 for a 3-game bundle, there are no gimmicks and no “fluff” games. You get a great deal on three games you will actually play. Bundles are organized and distilled so that each game in a bundle is unique in style but similar in genre.
You get a variety of bundles to choose from. We don't offer a Hodge-podge of whatever games we could find. We concisely combine awesome games to make exceptional bundles. It's up to you to choose your own pack with no worry about the several other games you could care less about.
The most important aspect is the fairness for game developers. They aren't giving away their hard work for pennies in return! Over 90% of the net sale goes directly to the developers of Steam games with 81% going to Desura developers.
Awesome games and awesome support for indies... what's not to love about IndieBundle?
Writers and Reviewers, if you would like a free review bundle and/or a promotional bundle (to give away to your crazy awesome readers), please contact Melanie at the following email: developers@indiebundle.org . Please include your name and review website.
IndieBundle.org will begin its Open Beta on August 31st, 2012. During this time all website features and bundles will be active. @GMNewsBite You should add email subscriptions to your site. Feedburner maybe?

@mdf200 (continued): I really mean sprite_add_sheet(), because the current adding only works with strips. Adding a sheet is a pain.

@mdf200 We really need a sprite_add_strip() function that sets stuff like offsets, image widths/heights, etc. sprite_add() = only strips. :(

@GameDevDan Well you've got all of these potential ones you're scrambling through, but none of them are good enough to tie it down. :(

Coming up with a name for your game is like trying to strangle a gorilla with spaghetti.

@lordoftheyoyo I was briefly intensely angry but as I read more details it started to sound ridiculous. *whew*

Just need to say i did buy it !! BUT : This need Multiplayer 2 player split screen and same screen when close action ! Need to put an overall effort in the real time ( base creation thing :) ! To me , it is good right now, but need too much imagination to feel or understand the need of a hero in the game. And you should make a point system too ! yeah in singleplayer only. And it would be a hit !!
Unfortunately split screen isn't possible with this game, because the logic / rendering is too intertwined. :(
I would love to expand on the campaign one day. That would be cool indeed. Thanks for the suggestions!
I too get this crash as well as random crashes (more rare) when playing.
Pressing any key to exit the "Know Your Energy Types" screen causes the game to crash with the following error:
ERROR in action number 8 of Draw Event for object obj_control:
Error in code at line 1487:
sprite_delete(global.spr_loadscreen_lang); //done with you
at position 35: Unknown variable spr_loadscreen_lang
Running current version (1.1) under Win7 64-bit.
Otherwise, the game's awesome.
A few people have been reporting this problem and I haven't been able to zero in on the cause yet. Does this happen after you play a few rounds successfully? That's what it seems like for most of the users reporting the problem - it happens after a few rounds instead of immediately. This is a bit hard to track down because it's a memory error that only happens on some systems. Thanks!
That error, yes.
Went in and started a new game. Went in to try and recreate the error, and got this:
ERROR in action number 8 of Draw Event for object obj_control:
Trying to delete non-existing sprite.
Don't know itf that helps, either.
They're related to the same problem. For some reason there's a problem with the in-engine sprite management for some computers on this build. I'll let you know when I ship a build of the game later with the problem fixed.
The game can't seems to save my profile. Everytime I start the game it prompts me to enter profile name.
It won't save a profile unless you complete the tutorial + one additional battle (otherwise there isn't player data to write because the tutorial doesn't have adjustment on).
Also, entering your profile name at the beginning is normal. Just enter the same name, and it will load your old file. That's how it chooses which file to load. :)
Something coming next week. Don't worry. :D
