The Ship and the Shop!
We finally added the shop to Greedy Guns. Now you can buy weapons and upgrades! We only have 3 weapons so far but more to come soon. Next month really. Because making videogames takes time! Have you wondered how do the Greedy Guns mercenaries get to their destination? They drive their own spaceship that's how! It's not very pretty but it get's the job done. Here's a gif of the spaceship being drawn. If you want to make a video-game spaceship just follow the recipe.
Recipe for quick video-game spaceship:
- first choose one of the many sketches and just drop that into photoshop
- get some guidelines to make sure you understand the volumes and make things parallel where they should be
- rough outlines
- basic shapes in color (any color really)
- add some quick shading
- refine the outlines
- ????
- profit
And this is how it looks in-game. Next to it is the store terminal. Both will show up with a bang :D
The Boss
A lot of research has gone into this. By research I mean a lot of hours playing metal slug. This is a quick animation to help us figure out how It will move about in the set and how much of it goes off camera when it does. Just a quick mockup really. The art is far from final really.
