Gas Guzzlers is a fast-paced addictive combat racing game for the PC. The game is played from the “behind the car“ camera perspective and features many different vehicles, weapons, upgrades, on-track bonuses as well as distinctive and astonishing environments.The player starts with a low-performance vehicle and gradually works his way up by earning money in a series of challenging races.With an initial amount of money,the player buys his first car without upgrades.
Well, what have we here?
A Croatian indie vehicular combat racer. Sounds like a winning combination, doesn't it? Well, let's find out in this review, shall we?(char limit :/)
Graphics: 9.5
This game delivers. The graphics are big budget quality. The car reflections, smoke and dust effects look great, and it is very pleasing to the eye. My PC ran it without problems. Cars take damage and the fender benders and crashes really leave their mark on the cars, however this has no effect on car performance. Whether this is good or bad is entirely subjective to the player. I didn't mind it myself. Damage looks quite nice and realistic, though.
Audio: 10
The audio quality in this game is up to the par with big budget release titles. The sound effects are very satisfying when you smash an opponent with a well-placed mine, shoot them with your weapons or crash into them, and the engines growl and roar in a very smile-inducing manner.
The music playing in the background really gets you in the mood for the carnage well.
Gameplay: 9
The controls are smooth and responsive, and the cars behave themselves well. Of course, the cars tend to spin out of control too easily if you try to force an opponent off the road, which can often be frustrating. I would say the controls are more "Flatout" style than realistic.
Difficulty: 8.5
This game is HARD. Very hard. Even on the easiest difficulty setting it is very easy to drop a few positions if you crash your car, sometimes making this game an exercise in frustration and anger management even on the "Easy" difficulty setting. (I didn't notice much difference in difficulty levels myself). However, the game still FAIR. This means the sense of accomplishement when you win a race is very rewarding and you feel you EARNED it.
Final Verdict: 9.5
A fun but hard racing game I'd recommend this game in a heartbeat for any self-respecting racing game fan.

Graphics
+ It looks fantastic and definitely as good looking as current modern game releases. You can be blinded by the explosions, smoke, dust and car trails. Cars slowly fall apart after taking damage which is very pleasing to watch. The environments and lighting effects are impressively detailed. Frame rate wise is quite smooth, running at a constant rate above 30 FPS.
- I wish to see some headlights effects, especially in the dark weathered tracks. Furthermore, there should not be rain effects in tunnels and the road should be dry.
Audio
+ The soundtracks are excellent and matches the car combat theme. The explosions, guns and tyre squeal on different types of road sounds fantastic and different.
- There is a lack of variety of the soundtracks, after a few races you probably heard them all. There is also a lack of environment sounds on the tracks, such as thunder, wind and rain.
Gameplay
+ By far one of the challenging games in the modern era, as games these days are getting easier. The gameplay are simple, straight forward and fun. The game also has great track variety, each feels unique with different settings, environment and weather. Each weapons performs differently and each feels powerful with different impact on your opponents. The A.I are also fierce in taking you out with great precision in their weapons and putting a good fight. Customisation is simple and players can customise to suit their own taste.
- I've finished medium, I went straight for Impossible difficulty. When the A.I is in front, they tend to stick to a specific line and their boost timing is also specific. In a particular spot, you can always see the A.I repeating the same mistake.
Overall
This is a great challenging game with a unique gameplay. If you are looking for some carnage or something different, this is the game worth your time. 9.5/10

Great game with awesome graphics and gameplay. So interesting and addictive that I couldn't let go for hours. So much fun. Strongly recommended.
The game feels and plays well, and the combat and racing delivers a good experience..
I found a couple of issues though...
- The game is too hard, no difficulty setting
- Lack of usability for navigating the menu, you should be able to use the arrow keys to navigate on the menus and pause menu
- I can't seem to use my Xbox 360 Controller for WIndows with this game
Otherwise good job and looking forward to the final version.

One of my favorite race game ever. I love the way that the cars feel heavy on the road. The game is very addictive, and I particularly like the big mess once the guns are firing !
Visually, it's pretty good, despite the lack of optimization sometimes.
If you like game like Flatout, you'll love this one.
