This is a just a first quick update. The release of Fire Line is a few weeks away at this point. I still have to do some polishing and testing. However, the end is sight.
I started developing Fire Line earlier this year as a prototype concept after my initiail concept idea was turned down by my university for funding. I then decided to drastically change the overall design of the game and instead focus on making Fire Line an interactive narrative style game, with a strong focus on researching and developing group and agent AI simulation techniques.
What I ended up with is the accumulation of about 4 months of work. I was fortune enough to have a friend of mine (Amr Din - who happens to be an awesome games artist), help me out with the 2D concept art and the direction of the visual aesthetics. We were both working on this game while finishing the last year of our degrees. Another good friend of mine (James "Axyss" Webb) - who happens to be a very talented musician - allowed me to use some of this songs for the prototype.
Overall, I'm quite happy with the end result of the prototype and I look forward to releasing it soon.
