This week our team created a short narrative for Epic Tales of Codfish, it reads as follows:

João Maria is a writer who was censured by the Portuguese Dictatorship in 1933. He and wife, Inês de Castro, had to find new professions in order to sustain their son. João is now a fisherman, and Inês a Varina.

The following moodboards describe these two characters:

Epic Tales of Codfish presents a political theme, with elements of nostalgia, family conflicts that involve parents and their child and moral and ethical dilemmas. We are focusing on Epic Tales of Codfish' concept and narrative.

The following image is a mockup image of how we want Epic Tales of Codfish to look like:

As if the player is reading a book, written by the main character João Maria (J.M.), the narrative gets developed. The player catches fish and sells it.


We are also working on the logo for Epic Tales of Codfish, below are the studies we made.

These are rough and still in progress. We intend to have an artstyle that appeals to more mature audiences.
