Hello, wanderer! Enough straying in the shadows - come close to a cosy light of our shining tree. We don't have a bonfires yet, though! It's time for another “Elven City SImulator” devlog.
Still no news on combat system, as it is still on paper. Many things happen since my last devlog, and major one is me moving to a different country - exciting thing I tell ya ahah. So, it was really rough time for adding changes… but we still did.
Gameplay footage with new features:
We playtested earlier builds, and decided that there are just too much actions required from player to get data about where are elfs, what exactly are they busy with and what is their condition. So, we added lists of of elfs in one place:
(This is a mode with hidden building - should allow player to find elfs!)
There is name button that allows quick screen switching to elf and description with elf's current occupation and health state! We also added similar menus for buildings and trees:
Now, player's experience should be smoother 🙂
On some screenshots descriptions are not fit fully in area for them, but we did fix that in steam version (I think we did, ahah)
Also we added a general tips about how game should be played to fulfil demo mission - anyone care to master this and give feedback? Last change that I'd like to show off is interactive pieces of text. No day of without open-source tools modification!
