You are a God! You are master and ruler of a loyal nation. You have unimaginable powers at your disposal. You have claimed this world as yours. But there are others who stand in your way. You must defeat and destroy these pretenders. Only then can you ascend to godhood and become the new Pantokrator. When you start the game you decide what kind of god you are and how your DOMINION affects your lands and followers. It is an expression of your divine might and the faith of your followers. If your dominion dies, so do you. Your dominion also inspires your sacred warriors and gives them powers derived from your dominion. In order to win and become the one true god you have to defeat your enemies one of three different ways: conquer their lands, extinguish their dominion or claim the Thrones of Ascension. Release version and manual is available now. Manual can be downloaded from Illwinter's web page.

There appears
to still be a lot of interest in newbie games, so I figured I might make one.

Server: dom4minions.com
Port: 40000
(I got the easy number)

Experience
levels: beginners, maybe 1 or 2 previous games of dominions tops.

Commitment:
Average, i guess. if someone needs an extension i'll see what i can do, but if at all possibly tell me a while ahead, as theres a certain delay. Do not just go AI. Going AI is acceptable in two situation: If you're doing decently in the game but need to leave; please try to get a replacement. if you're leaving because you're down to two provinces and has giants knocking at your castle door, at least explain why you're leaving, so that i don't suddenly see people going AI with no explanation.

Turn Timer:
28 hours early game, switching to 52 when it is needed.

Amount of players: Depends on interest, but probably around 8-12, as there seems to be a
dearth of maps after that point.

Game mode:
Not disciple. The amount of thrones, or whatever, Is up for debate though.

Map:
anything, really, so long as it doesn’t wrap both ways (hurts my poor brain),
or is Valanis (beautiful map, but I’m in a game on it and the logistics of a
map split in two, with a grand total of 3 fords is a nightmare, and so it largely
develops into two separate games.). I would be interested in trying a Random
map, unless that’s completely out of the picture.

Age: EA

Sapientum: Abyssia

Igoraki: Sauromatia

Welshbyrne: Pangaea

Ryanza: Fomoria

Pohjanmaalainen: Tien’chi

Hruga: Helheim

Gwyllion: Lanka

Laethaka: Machaka

Arizonatea1234567: Maverni

MrMcHaggis: Kailasa

Swuboo: Ermor

Wilfull: Yomi

I'll sign up.
Random map sounds good to me in all. No disrepect to Valanis but it's getting a little samey.
I vote for EA personally
And I'd like to take Pangaea please.
Axtually, I'll take Pangaea regardless of the age

I think I can squeeze in one more game... preference would be EA Fomoria

Count me in. I, too, vote for EA but I haven't chosen nation yet. And random map is fine enough for me.

Random maps are wraparound :) I vote for Valanis, the best map ever created by human :D And EA is fine. Did not decide the nation pick yet.
Valanis is a complete and logical world, fit for roleplaying and fun :D And it can't be the same, since u always spawn at the different point.

Random maps can be made only non-wrapping or wrapping in one direction. The problem with valanis is the central ocean, which completely breaks the map into two seperate minigames, and makes is redicoulously hard for player to engage each other (also, there's a shedload of rivers). i'm doing quite well in my other game, and i currently have a grand total of 2 neighbours with a total border area of 4 provinces.

There are some maps at www.Dom4Minions.com
and I can generate a batch matching pretty much any desire.

If you need an extra player, I am willing to join. I have one MP game finished, one in progress, one waiting to start besides this. I think I would take Helheim or Lanka, but only if you don't have enough players.

Nov 6 2013 Anchor

i would like to join too,but if we are all beginners, are we gone learn much from each others ?
EA gets my vote and if we are picking nations already,i would go with Sauromatia

Nov 6 2013 Anchor

You can learn how the game works. If someone rushes you and you are forced on the defensive from the start, it might not be the best experience to learn things.

Nov 6 2013 Anchor

Oh, 'bout the people who willingly bow before my godly might and are forcing others to do so too. I've picked Tien Chi

2hrs 30 minutes, almost 8 players. We really need more games for this crazy level of interest!

I'll throw in as well. Need some time to pick nation but I'll have it and a pretender before the night is over.
When we decide the age please post in OP so I can pick easily

I've got one game going but none finished, I'd love to play EA Ulm.

Nov 6 2013 Anchor

I'm definitely in, and I think that makes ten. (EDIT: eleven, with McHaggis. Ulm is spoken for by OP, by the way.)

My vote's for EA, but I'll have to think about which nation to go for.

Would like to join as well if there is room.

Nov 6 2013 Anchor

hm welp that was quick, let's close sign-ups here then :)

The Age seems to be EA.

Now let's discuss thrones... personally i find them hilarious, but they might be a bit too much of a boost for nations that use alot of blesses, who knows...

@Vulpes_inculta, you went AI in the other game i'm in with no explanation, please don't do that here.

As a mechanism to give the game a reasonable end condition and spur diplomacy, I'm in favor of them. I could certainly see restricting it to level one thrones, though.

What sort of rules are you leaning towards for turn submission cutoffs, withdrawals, and other such logistical matters?

Nov 6 2013 Anchor

I'll take Kailasa then! For my reading comprehension has been ape-like.

Nov 6 2013 Anchor

Hm, i think some of the higher level thrones are hilarious, especially the ones that give a new kind of mage or other recruitable. but yeah, the level 1's are by far more balanced.

As for turn submission im thinking the standard 28/52 hours per turn for the early and mid game respectively, by late game who knows what needs people have. Withdrawals? don't know what you mean by that in the context of dominons. i mean, you're free to change things in your turn untill it actually hosts, but i figure no rehosts.

@welshbyrne: going from Squidface to Goathead, eh?

@MrMcHaggis: Noted.

Nov 6 2013 Anchor

Ok, I would take Lanka then :) I would suggest 15-20 L1 thrones, with around 66% needed for victory.

I would also say no going AI without telling people, and preferably try and get a replacement first.

I meant going AI.

EDIT: And what the heck; let's roll the dice and sign me up for Ermor.

Nov 6 2013 Anchor

hm, yes didn't write that as i figured it was common curtesy.

Nov 6 2013 Anchor

I've decided, I'll play EA Marverni. Never tried them before but they look interesting (if not very powerful at all!)

Nov 6 2013 Anchor

Eh, if we picked by Power level i should have first-picked Hinnom :)
