what will the map boundaries be?

certainly larger than this demo map. About double the size. I'll probably also add some "fake" land in the skybox to make it appear to go on indefinitely

Great video but two questions 1) why is the propeller floating midway through the front section of the plane and 2) when changing viewing angles, why is the propeller no longer normal to the front face of the plane but instead at varying angles? Other than that looks good

***sorry I meant to say when changing viewing angles why is the propeller rotation not parallel to the front face of the plane and instead almost seems to angle outward. Moreover, I have not noticed these two concerns that I now raise in your previous uploaded videos

Hernan ****** up somewhere, we're looking into it.
We've just recently added a system to script the propellor position (the planes will be customisable via 3ds max, tools will be included), and only a little testing has been done. This is probably part of the issue.

thanks for the info...just a few additional questions 1) By customisable models, do you mean that we can edit the plane models ourselves therefore can edit and perhaps add more detail to the model, 2) for Windows PCs are you alloting for larger texture sizes in the order of 1024x1024 or around there, 3) what gaming resolutions can we hope for, i.e. will it be higher than or around 1280x1024, and 4)will more detail be added to the terrain...thanks again

1) yes, you can make totally new plane models using 3ds max. Our tools we are using to make the vanilla dicta planes will be released soon after the beta, and i've been spending some time recently documenting how to use them (it's very easy)
2) as far as i know, we havent imposed any hard limit for texture resolution. Most formats cap it at 4096x4096, but the dicta community (if there ever is one) are free to experiment with new texture sizes. We would recommend keeping the resolution similar to the existing planes, unless one was planning to make a whole highdef replacement pack or something.
3)Resolution is currently fixed for PC at 2x psp resolution. Switching resolutions isn't a high priority yet and we will most likely address it once a couple of releases are made.
4)The terrain you are viewing in this photos and videos is a test terrain of about 4x4km. The terrain format is one of the things we need to address before we can release as currently it's just a mesh. A few solutions are proposed but we are yet to solidly decide on one.
However, you will be able to place models and things on the terrain. Custom maps will be possible using our tools (once they are finished and stable - most of our work so far has been focused on the planes)
