Dark Scavenger has to be one of the most bizarre concepts for a game I have played in a long time, Adrift in space and picked up by a motley crew of Aliens who you must help or die.

It is very reminiscent of the old choose your own adventure books like Final Fantasy & Lone Wolf, with choices to be made and a simple combat mechanic.

I do like the crafting mechanic though for every item you pick up it can be turned into a useful item by one of the aliens, either weapons, items or allies.

It's definitely worth checking out if your looking for an story based game that you can play at your own pace and not worry about time limited mechanics.

+ Weird/Bizarre plot
+ Fun cartoon style graphics
+ Unusual crafting mechanics
+ Great characterisation
+ Play at your own pace, no time limits per decision/action

- Only playable in windowed mode at small resolution
- Combat can get confusing when you have lots of weapons/items and allies

Probably one of my favorite games of all time. I'm a gamer who values, above ALL else, VARIETY of a game, as well as how DYNAMIC it is.
It's simple in it's art, but is so amazingly unique, more item variety than any other game ever...GOTY.

This is interesting and creative.

Surprisingly great game. It's like a nice mix of text adventure, point-and-click adventure and RPG, with a few unique twists. I especially liked the weapon/item/ally system that allows you to get through encounters in different ways.

Writing is very entertaining and often hilarious. The "New Game+" mode offers replayability, i.e. you get to keep all your items and can find new ones. Plus, thanks to the variety of choices you can try out several different solutions to encounters. I played through it twice in a row and was tempted to give it a third try.

Highly recommendable if you're into adventures.
