Core of Innocence is a platform adventure game in a similar vein to Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. It currently features 49 weapons, over 250 pieces of equipment, 18 spells, and several 'key items' to aid you on your journey. The mapping system is similar to that of Castlevania: SotN and Super Metroid so tracking your location and explored areas is a little easier. Core of Innocence consists of eight areas, each with its own theme of unique monsters and environmental hazards and bosses. There will be 18 quests in game to fill in the story along the way and to provide equipment upgrades to the player as they progress through the game. Otherwise the world is pretty much entirely open, only limited by lack up key item upgrades for movement such as double jump or cat form for climbing walls. Be warned though, there is some nudity in game so it is aimed towards the adult/mature crowd, but there are options to disable most of it should you want to.

We recently hit a big milestone in Core of Innocence! All sixty base enemy types complete!

Hey everyone,

Sorry I just realized I haven't been keeping my indieDB up to date as my last update was in March... oops. Well, I'm happy to say that the game progress is still going strong and it feels great to finally announce that I have completed all sixty enemies! They can all be spawned and fought in the testing level, and are currently going through debugging with the test group. I still need to add in some of the various sound effects but otherwise they all function! :) It's been a long uphill challenge to get all of these enemies completed and I must say it feels really good to have it behind me for the most part.

That being said, I've moved onto getting the bosses in game! Below is a sneak peek at the first boss of the Frozen Wastes area, Eyecycle! :D Originally this boss was designed as a flying machine thing, but looking back at my story, makes no sense for machinery to be in this portion of the game world so I opted for something more organic. In my opinion it turned out much better and is a much more interesting boss design.

Also, in celebration of hitting this pretty big milestone for CoI, we gave our site and logo a fresh new look ! Be sure to check it out as there has been a good handful of new media uploaded for your viewing pleasure!

-Add in loot table for monsters, then distribute treasure chests and quest rewards
-Add in the remaining quests
-Final game world polishing and bug fixes
-Release!

Thanks for reading, and keep an eye out for future updates!
