Command Throne aka Underground Throne is a spiritual successor to the classic Dungeon Keeper series. Play as a know-it-all antagonist who attempts to take over the world, starting from the underground world first. If you like strategic drama while encountering light humor and a classic / retro experience. Here is your game. The game is only in the AlphaPrime state right now and has much work to be done on it.

Post news Report RSS Version 0.18 - Mapping the game to the finish line

Some big news in the development cycle of the game. From KickStarter to core mechanics look at what we did these last 36 hours.

I pushed myself to work through screenshot Saturday without even taking a shower. By chance I woke up early this morning and was able to start gamedev.

The below screenshot shows multiple rooms working 75% as they should properly:

As you can see the dollar signs above our peelo digger indicates he is returning to the treasure room. I made the treasury surround your throne room in my test map, but it can go anywhere.

In regards to the game's map system, currently I optimized my code for the map to be scaled on a non-full screen basis as well. One problem lies in when clicking on the map itself on such a small scale as the size of a minimap. I will try to fix that, but in the new version the minimap will not allow clicking on it; however; the giant full screen map will allow clicking to preposition your power-camera.

In regards to KickStarter we're working on our KickStarter video as well as adding some needed polish to our page itself. The goal is to launch a 30-45 day campaign early next week(March 2 - 9). Only time will tell how fast we're approved of using KickStarter.

In regards to the KickStarter campaign versus current Pre-Orders, when we launch the campaign the price of the game will go up to a minimum of $10 per purchase. Currently you can buy the game for only $1 via SuperLongName.com. So if you want to save yourself a pretty penny I would say you shoudl get it now.

One reason I added the minimap before adding enemy A.I is due to the nature of the game. Often while selecting new plots to dig out i wanted to quickly return to my wicked throneroom, so I made the map system.

To Do list before V 0.20 release:

  1. Room Furniture
  2. Dynamic Walls
  3. Fighting minions
  4. New minion A.I
  5. Minion summon gate

So tons of work going on. I'm sad we couldn't complete this project in a month, but it is most likely going to take a minimum of 8 months to get a good game out.

What do you think?
