Hello friends! We know this update has been a long time coming, but Children of Liberty Alpha 0.1.5 is now online and free to play! We've been working out countless bugs since 0.1.2 went online, and we're closing in on submitting to the Independent Games Festival. There's a lot of new stuff that's gone in, with more getting fixed, tweaked, and added every day!
New features for 0.1.5 include:
- Camera Smoothing: The camera has been tweened to follow the player in a smoother manner. Now it spins around when you turn corners and has a bit of give/veer when following you normally.
- Zoning: Going alongside the camera smoothing is our new Zoning mechanism, which allows us to create controlled 3D zones which the player can move between. These zones allow us to control the camera in whatever way we wish, and will be used to add claustrophobia or create all kinds of dynamic shots.
- Scaling: Walls can now be scaled just by jumping up to ledges. While hanging on a ledge, you can hit A or D to shimmy left and right, and S to drop.
