In the last update I mentioned that the environments will be improved in the next update. Therefore I've been working on a new map in the last 3 weeks. It's the first map which will be in the final version of the game:
As you can see in the video, the area in which players can build is smaller than in the previous map. I did that to make games shorter and more interesting because it was very difficult to win a game due to the distance between players.
Another interesting thing about the map is the hillside. It is possible that a building gets destroyed and slides down the hill which means that it's owner loses all resources.
This map will only be used in singleplayer and multiplayer games. You can still build everything you want in the huge map in the sandbox-mode.
Besides the map I also started to work on some other things which I will be part of the next update. Tell me what you think about the map or the game in general :)
Never did I want to make a doge meme so badly(so I'll do it on your YouTube vid). Game looks fun, I would love to see my enemy fall down the mountain.
Interessting, what have you planned for the unit and the system of ressources ? (I hope it's gonna be like AoE I & II).
There is an article with a video on my blog about how resources are implemented in the game (It was an update some months ago): Brickinventions.net
At the beginning of each game only have wood and have to build producers, which create resource-blocks. You have to transport them to a warehouse by using conveyor-belts in order to be able to use the resource. You can upgrade the warehouse and the producers which then producer faster or have more capacity. Every producer and warehouse has an object at the top of the podium and if that object falls down, you lose all upgrades -> you have to protect them with walls,... .
There won't be units (like in AoE), but I plan to implement a research-centre or something like this where you can unlock different bonuses (for example 10% faster production) or new technologies.
