Description
Blimps is a throwback adventure RPG with 77 missions and an original soundtrack. It puts you in the captain's chair of an electric cargo airship. Armed with water, fire, and ice cannons and a couple of hanger Robots to help you on your way, can you learn to survive in this world of Blimps only to escape it?
History
Blimps was created by game designers Corinne and Ed. During the years they spent co-developing it, they taught themselves the necessary skills to produce the game’s music, art, programming, and design. The game was released on January 1, 2021.
They update the game on all available platforms with regular bug fixes and content/feature updates. There have been five major post-release updates – the first added the Office, Towns, and the Pigeon Post Pneumatic Tubes. The second expanded the end game, reorganized the pop-up inventory menus, and increased the total tasks to 77. The third major update (Feb. 2022) introduced partial gamepad controller functionality so players could fly their Blimps around the world "twin-stick shooter style." The fourth major update (July 2023) added the Seven Diatonic Kingdoms. Players can now attempt to defeat seven increasingly difficult tower defense castles to become the King of Blimps. The fifth major update(November 2023) added many cutscenes to all the destinations in the world of Blimps. The sixth major update(December 2023) added full gamepad support, so players can now play the entire game with only a gamepad controller.
