Blight is made up of four worlds. Each is in a varied location, and each becomes more mechanized as you progress. The game is fairly ambitious, though perfectly doable. And after a while working on it, alpha funding may just be the way to go with the game. I would start with a release of world 1. It is the most polished, though I've got stuff done past it. Supporters would be able to buy-in for 1/4 of the final price so they can get the first world. And for early support, they would get the rest of the game free upon completion. A second tier of release would happen when world 2 was finished, thus selling the game for 1/2 price and promising the other half for free, and so on. This would solve (hopefully!) multiple problems such as funding, explicit release schedules, better awareness, and people would get to play the game earlier! I plan on having the first alpha release up this summer, so keep an eye out!
To speed up the release of Blight, I plan on using Alpha Funding to release the game with staggered pricing proportional to final game completion.
