Greetings folks.

The Insane Sheep team has been hard at work at bringing you the biggest update in Big Tower (so far!) such as new mechanics, better visuals, new features and a lot more. These changes have been in development for quite some time, and most of these new features were implemented based on user feedback and overall player experience with the game.

The visuals

One of the main focus with this update was to make the make become more cohesive with its retro visuals during gameplay and its menus. Previous versions of Big Tower, the U.I and gameplay art didn't have a consistent look and felt separated from each other. Gameplay wise, we chose to go for a retro aesthetic, while menus and other user interface elements remained in another style.

To fix this issue, we've redesigned all the menus in the game to the same retro visual style you see ingame.

While most menus contain the same color palette and buttons, the visual overhaul makes a more clearer look for the entire game

The Help Menu was also revamped for better navigation:

The Features

While the menus look different now, the biggest change (and improvement) was made in the gameplay controls. In this update, we've changed the way you build towers in the map, and made it easier to manage all the information you need. Before, there were 2 bars, the tower bar, and the wave/time control bar. Switching between the two caused a lot of confusion with new players and it wasn't a smooth control scheme.

We've removed the ability to switch between bars and now, the tower icons are always present to you, when you have the cursor selected in an empty spot on the map. If you select the road, the game automatically switches to the wave bar (enemies in current wave and next wave), also in this bar, we've added a new feature that shows you the number of total waves and your current wave.

The time control buttons (pause, normal speed and double speed) has been moved to the upper right corner of the screen (where previously the clock and battery icons were displayed, which have been removed), and are always present in the screen.

Performance wise, the game now runs more smoother and loads faster than before, not to mention the file size has been significantly reduced to make those updates less painful to download.

There's a new challenge available to buy in the shop. This one is for Era 02 and it's quite the challenge (some of us only managed to beat it after 15 tries). Surviving "Valley of Despair" grants you a total of 660 coins.

You can read the full changelog over in our site (warning! it's big)

We've also reduced the price of the game from €1,49 to €0,99 (about 33% reduction). As usual, you can find more info and news in our regular channels
