Alpen Ghoul: Prologue is a stealth/exploration game. Your goal is to reach the summit alive, but you are not alone. Play smart and tread lightly if you plan on outmaneuvering this relentless hunter.
Below is some information about the gameplay.
THE YETI
Monsters relegated to chasing in straight lines or hallways? Creatures teleporting or using cheap tricks?? Not in Alpen Ghoul: Prologue! The Yeti uses non-linear pathing, and is able to traverse the map same as the player. It will actively try to hunt you. It is IT'S mountain after all.... The Yeti also has great hearing and will take notice to running. Stealth however, is nearly silent. You'll have to play smart to avoid being grabbed.
SLIDE
When the Yeti finds you, and it will find you, the player can escape using a unique slide mechanic. You only need a bit of momentum to start sliding. Slide into natural hiding spots or gain distance with the slides speed boost.
HIDE
There are no lockers to hide in here...Use natural hiding spots dotted across the map to take a breather and watch your hunter from afar.
SURVIVE
The map is large and has multiple routes that all lead to the cabin. Some routes are harder then others. Use your best judgement (there is a sign) to determine which route is the hardest. Just like the Yeti you are also not limited to traversing in a linear fashion. If you feel stuck try a different route.
Use landscape markers and shortcuts to easily traverse and evade the creature. A mastery of the environment is key.
TAPES & BOOMBOXES.
Unique tapes are scattered around the large multi route map. Search for them to unlock secrets and special modes. These special modes can greatly aid the player, but you will have to find them.
Tapes can be played in any of the hidden boomboxes. Boomboxes also serve as safe areas. The Yeti can not get to you if you are in a safe area.
