ADOM (Ancient Domains Of Mystery) is one of the most successful roguelike games ever created, with downloads in the millions and many more every day. ADOM was the first roguelike to add a true role-playing experience to the roguelike genre, and boasts a brilliant mix of story, RPG, exploration, and intensely strategic and flexible combat.

I've playing ADOM for at least 16 years.
I've never won, but it didn't stop me from playing at least once a week.

With the new updates, the beatiful graphics and the lovely music, it became a completely new experience which I enjoy even more than the ASCII mode.

All in all a fantastic game.

It's just an awesome game!

I'm not used to review games but I have to say for Adom i'm gladly doing an exception. I've been playing the game for almost 15 years, on and off. The longevity of this gem is simply amazing. Just to say, I continue to find new ways of dying! It's a game with quite a steep learning curve, but it's able to reward the player immensely. You have to be prepared to die because, believe me, you will. And now, released on Steam, with beautiful tiles, music, improved UI and controls (though there is still some work to do), Adom continues to shine. Would give 10/10 for other 15 years.

I've been playing ADOM for about 20 years. It was my initial introduction to rougelike games and although I tried the rest of them this is the one I kept coming back to. It is literally the first thing I always download when I get a new computer. It is the game I have played the longest and although I have never won, it has never gotten stale or old for me. After 20 years it keeps surprising me with aspects of game play and storyline that I have never run into before. I can see myself playing this until the day I die and that I wont be able to play it after I die is probably the only thing that saddens me about death. I am thrilled that it has made it's way to Steam because it means so many more people will know the frustrating joy of dying that was always ADOM, even before Dark Souls made it popular. Such a great game and Thomas is such a great guy.

The first roguelike I ever really got into and one of the two that I always go back to. Really looking forward to playing more with the new bells and whistles. : )

Been playing this game for 15 years now, still not bored, still a challenge. I start over every 3-4 months or so.
Biggest RPG with the most elements I saw in a game!

I've been playing this game since my teens and I've yet to beat it. Despite looking like a basic hack'n slash, it is one of the most mentally stimulating games I have ever played. Highly recommended.

The best RPG for the last 10 years. A deep and ruthless experience but still more accessible and with a better story-arc than Nethack and other rogue-likes. The new Steam version have just made it much better than ever.

When you need to play a good rogulike game, you know where to search and what...
