99 Levels to Hell is a platform shooter with lots of guns, upgrades, magic, traps and monsters to kill. 99 Levels to Hell is a rogue-like-like, which means surviving is key and every time you play you get a random selection of levels to play. When you complete 10 levels, the 10th being a boss-fight you unlock a door to the next dungeon. Hidden in the darkness of the dungeons are shops, casinos and elevators. Review based on alpha demo 9.7.2012

Pros:
-Would be great if there were more GOOD roguelike games

Cons:
-Way too dark, my eyes are sore now
-Too much gore, looks just silly
-Levels not procedural enough
-Too simple (even shooting feels repetive)
-Floaty controls

Poor-man's Spelunky.

I really enjoy where this game is heading. Lots of fun. It could use more variety is items and monsters, but I love the idea of the random terrain generation and the puzzle-like look reminds me a little of Spelunky, but with its own unique style. Permadeath is always fun, too.

This game is absolutly great! It's a mix of Binding of Isaac and Spelunky. It has a 2d plataformer style and it's a roguelike what's not to like in this?! BUY!

Excellent 2D roguelike shooter/platformer, continuing to get better throughout alpha/beta

I'm just going to say at first I thought this game didn't run well and stuff like that but once I actually got it working it was so much fun. Reminds me of Spelunky a little bit but much easier. I can't wait for more updates :)

I absolutely love this game. It's unforgiving, frustrating, and has made me legitimately -angry-, yet I keep wanting to play it. The atmosphere is amazingly immersive thanks to the eerie soundtrack and dark yet colorful visuals, but don't think that the game is slow because of this. You have to finish the levels as quickly and efficiently as you can so that you are able to get the loot and exit the level before it suddenly all starts going to hell. What do I mean? Play a level very slowly, taking every single item, admire the art, leave some monsters around... You'll see. :3

Anyways, the weapons and items seem to be overall balanced and varied, so there's a weapon in there to appeal to everyone, from the long-range rifle to the personal touch of the bubble gun. The art is clean and it's clear what everything is, so you can't easily mistake a bat for a spider in combat. When you blast a small crowd of monsters with a shotgun, there's a nice big pool of blood left behind, thanks to the entertaining hemodynamics, or blood physics, but hemodynamics sounds cooler. The soundtrack is perfect for the game. The normal levels have very atmospheric music, but the boss battles have brutal metal that nicely captures the stressful nature of the event.

99 Levels To Hell is something that I believe is worth trying for everyone, though quick reactions, a touch of patience (or maybe just stubbornness), and bloodlust will sure help you.

cool game, I like the mood and gore. also, pretty cool soundtrack. gameplay-wise it just becomes a little repetitive after while, didn't hold my attention for too long, but it's fun.

Very cool game, and a nice take on the roguelike if you ask me. Addictive, hard, and varied this game nails "easy to learn but hard to master"
