3079 is a futuristic, open-world action first-person role playing game. You arrive on a planet experiencing constant war. It is your duty to find out why the warring factions cannot find peace on their own & hopefully restore it yourself. All areas, buildings, items, quests and characters are randomly generated. You will find unique lands & challenges. I hope you enjoy it! "Just want to say again that this is a great game! For those of you who feel like its a minecraft copy just beacuse of the cube textures used you really need to rethink what a game is about! The game play of 3079 is nothing like minecraft it is pretty unique as well as how the weapons all have diffrent stats and colors kind of reminds me of Borderlands. However it is still an original idea for a game and i still play it from time to time. You should at least try the demo and if you like it please buy it and support fruit! :D Still give it a 9/10 ! I have to say I hate day/night cycles since the days of Ocarina of Time, often it feels like their only effect on the game is to make you wait if you happen to arrive at the wrong time. These days there's the additional effect of not being able to see anything at all. Since there are no monsters that only come out at night I wish the day/night cycle was simply removed from 3079 so I don't stare at a black screen half the time (it's so damn dark I can't see anything unless it's night in real life). Is there a reason to keep it? It's not fun.

The demons only come out at night during the first part of the game. Also, the darkness of the night makes you harder to see, so quests that require you not to be detected are best to do at night. Night vision goggles do exist as an item to make darkness more visible, so I suggest buying a pair. Finally, night time is a good time to show off 3079's lighting engine, which is pretty neat :) So, to answer your question -- yes, there are reasons to keep it.

Yeah but NVs eat power which means slower shooting, also they can end up obsolete (and then you have to find a new pair somewhere). So squinting and straining your eyes remains the optimal approach or at least necessary to some degree. I didn't notice that the demons are tied to the night, maybe it's because they don't go away when the night ends so it feels just random.

Guess I don't do enough quests to really care about the detection stuff. Isn't the only item that requires a quest to get the demon smiter?

The only thing that bothers me is how fast that day/night cycle happens.
Make it slower and just give us some way to skip time when needed (beds or something similar)
