Inventory editor? Thread - 3079

Hey i was just wondering if it would be possible to have an inventory editor for lazy people like me?

It certainly is possible. The save files shouldn't be too hard to reverse engineer -- they are GZIP compressed files. All that I ask is that you don't be a jerk with modified player files on servers, since then the admins will have to ban you etc. etc.

Maybe someone can setup a server for people to have wild fights with created characters?

I tried with cheat engine to modify my stats, but i could not pick up on anything, might take a poke at the save files later though..

Wish someone would make a tutorial for this. Just accidentally sold my anti-grav pack. Lol.

Probably easier to find and purchase another anti-grav pack than try and hack one into your inventory

True, now that I think about it. Although I was in a low level area at the time. The merchants were only selling 40 weight ones, and I had an anti-grav pack that supported something like 200 weight, so I had to travel for a bit to find a decent pack.

I already Created a Mod For 3079, It Lets you edit Your Inventory When pressing C And I together. It Brings Up a List, Full Of Items, But I dont Know If i Should Leak it, Should I sent It Or Leak it?

Send it away, as long as you do not share the full version of the game (just the mod) -- all that I ask is people don't use this on Multiplayer servers, and if they do -- specify the multiplayer server as a "cheater server"

I tried To Sent it But One Problem, When Trying To sent it (I Tried To a Friend Who got Demo and Full Version, same As Me) Dident Work, He Installed It, And java Said - Wrong String Script And Crashed, And I found the Problem, I need To sent Entire LIB Folder To Start The Mod Without Problems. Any Answers How to fix it?

Seems Like The LIB is Kinda Mashed Up For the Full Version And Demo Too, You Should Rearrange It Phr00t.

Im Asking myself, If its Possible To Edit The EXE Of the Game, What It Possible is, I guess It Would Be More Easily to do a Selfinject FOr Starter Peoples Who dont Know how To install Games, Could Anyone Give me a Template for An EXE With a Source of 3079?, And No, Not the Entire Game, Nor The Demo, I just need an Exe That Runs Like a Setup Into The Folder - C:/Games/3079 Or C:/Programms/3079 I Dunno How to Make EXEs. Only Mods, Could Anyone Help?
So I can Make a Autoinstaller Of the Mod, Into the 3079 Folder, Maybe That Works, Oh and, I found Out, That DEMO doesnt Work, The Mod Only works For Full Version, So, You need To buy the Game, To Try the Mod, But No Worry, I will Try To Make the Exact Mod For the DEMO, So Players Can Test All Weapons Ingame, If theyre Too lazy, Or have No Time To Get Em.

I'd prefer if mods were only available to paying users. I don't think there will be an easy way to "auto-install" mods into 3079... maybe see how Minecraft does it? Anyway, you should be able to "install" mods just by replacing modified .class files in the .EXE/.JAR file, much like mods were handled with Minecraft.

If The Mods are Ment To be Only for Paid users, Should I make a Censored One? (AKA, Only A Few Weapons To cheat, Other Ones Is Only For Bought Version)
Since Players Would Like to see What Weapons are Ingame, How they work, And How they Look Like, Etc Etc Etc.
And Yes, Minecraft Uses That, Yeah, But The Problem is, Some Peoples Out There are Jackasses, Thinking For Themselves. They Dont even Give 1 Byte of the Program Out, I hate Those Peoples.

While Chatting here, I Finished A new Mod, Allowing Me Editing The Entire World, However I Want, Im Not Giving It out, Since Its MUltiplayer Too, I Use It to edit My Friends Map If i Have Permission, Or My World On Offline/Online, I Can Spawn Entitys, Weapons, Blocks, And More. Please just make mods for paid versions only. You can already get all of weapons in the demo version by purchasing them from merchants. I don't think that premade setup EXE method will work, since you will need to make modifications within the 3079.exe file, and not distribute the whole 3079.exe file (since that would be distributing the full version of the game, which would be considered piracy). You should stick with the "minecraft" method of replacing .class files in the .EXE using an archiving program -- this requires players to already have the full 3079.exe file.

With Base Mod I anyways Ment - The Inventory Editor Mod, For Full Version And Some Bug Fixes Ingame, That I found, Like Lagspike Fix For Slow PCs, Increased Fog For Laggy PCs, More Weapons, Some NPCs And More.

Can you provide more details on your fixes and changes? For example, what is the lagspike, and what did you do to fix it?

EDIT: Also -- by using the .class replacement method, people with MacOSX and Linux can use your mod too!

Phr00t My Group (over 2K peoples) Some Of them Play 3079 And They knew I made Mods, And they were complaining About lagspikes Because Of Entitys And Other blocks, So I made It So - If An Entity/Block Goes Into The Fog, It Dissapears, And When You Go there It appears, It saves ALOT Of Memory, And Its Easy To Make. And I added An Option Button When pressing I (Inventory) To Turn Off/On Fog And Its Density, Like In Minecraft.

Can you share the code changes you made with me? I'm interested to see what you did -- I want to know what overall impact it will have on other aspects of the game.

I made It By, Copying Mojangs Fog Script And Inserting It Into 3079, But I changed It over It all. And Giving it Here Wont Help Either, It Will give an Empty RAR, I tried It Already with Some Peoples. They all Said Its Empty RAR. Even ZIP. Im Going To upload My mods on www.plunder.com Or Make my Own Website, To Upload The Mods There, Oh and, I Finished The basemod Scripts On Animals, Just, Phr00t, What Way Did you Use To make The NPCs? Programm? Minecrafts Way By Making a template? I hadnt Time to check, Was Too busy To make the Basescript Of Animals, All Animals, Exept Deers, Will Attack You If you Attack them, (Like Humoids) When Trying To Steal From an Animal There will Be a message, Saying - "You Cant Steal From An Animal."
And Trust Me, Its Good that I added It, Since There are Some Idiots Out There, Who Try everything To get ANYTHING at All, Animals Are Immune To Shots, But makes Them Aggresive, There Are 2 Types, Solo And Grouped, Solos Are Less a Challenge, Since Its only One, A Grouped Is always Together, And Tougher, Since you Need to Face a Group Of 10 - 20 Animals, To Defeat. Now I need A way To add Textures And The Meshes, And This Scripting IS Harder Than Minecrafts Ways, If i Cant Go on, Ill Leave The Modmaking, And Continue FInishing off Rune Craftory.

The NPCs in 3079 are not "pre-made" -- they are generated via code. I have a few blocks that procedurally get put together to make up arms, legs etc. Interesting ideas you have there
