3079 is a futuristic, open-world action first-person role playing game. You arrive on a planet experiencing constant war. It is your duty to find out why the warring factions cannot find peace on their own & hopefully restore it yourself. All areas, buildings, items, quests and characters are randomly generated. You will find unique lands & challenges. I hope you enjoy it! "Just want to say again that this is a great game! For those of you who feel like its a minecraft copy just beacuse of the cube textures used you really need to rethink what a game is about! The game play of 3079 is nothing like minecraft it is pretty unique as well as how the weapons all have diffrent stats and colors kind of reminds me of Borderlands. However it is still an original idea for a game and i still play it from time to time. You should at least try the demo and if you like it please buy it and support fruit! :D Still give it a 9/10 ! Conquering a building? (Games : 3079 : Forum : General Discussion : Conquering a building?) Locked

Is it possible to conquer a building? Such as you kill all the people inside it, and take their terminal or something. I have no clue really. But it'd be nice to be able to expand our own turf. :D

Not really but I suggested something like that in the suggestions forum.

It is a cool idea, I agree -- but you can't do it yet :-/

I would even go that far to suggest something like a conquest mode instead of the current difficulty circles by levels.

Making groups being spawned at towns/buildings/settlements to either move out to capture some "points of interest" or defend against attacks would make the world much more believable than random spawned mobs.

An emphasis on buildings would open up a lot of interesting options, like improvements on the mob groups a building spawns. E.g. the longer a building is in the hand of a faction the higher the levels of the spawned mobs can become? This would make players have to remove an enemy outpost, cos over time it will spawn stronger and stronger mobs.

Im also absolutly for building damage.
When you center the general conquest around the settlements you can even use attacking groups that head out to build new fortresses to siege a town. Destroying them or repairing outposts so your faction can sent a new group to reinforce that... Ok, now Im becomming dizzy from the masses of gameplay options that can evolve from that, hehe!

Interesting idea, sounds like it needs to be flushed out a bit more (e.g. how would you see this actually being implemented?). I would like to add some more depth to the gameplay, extend the story & have a "defense" mode -- maybe we can wrap all these into one "purpose"? :)

Computers could play a part here, or perhaps some sort of "base control item/flag" that you have to build in an enemy base.

Interacting with or dropping the "flag" deletes your current mission and gives you a new one - defend the flag for XXX seconds. Then spawn 1 or 2 enemies per room of the base (making smaller bases easier to take over) that are aware of you and the flag. If they kill you (or do enough damage to the flag) then your attempt fails.

I don't like the Idea of adding a flag to the bases, but perhaps you could hack the computers in a manner similar to how you would capture the base in various first person shooters. Like you walk up to a computer console, start hacking it and then enemies start swarming in trying to prevent you from taking their base?

I still don't have very much experience in the game, but it seems that the city I started in changed factions? It was a pretty cool development, but I'm curious about how this happened?

I accepted a quest to take over a Neander fort. I flew up above the city to a flying fort, cleared it out and used the terminal to take control. Then, I went back down and was surprised to see that Neanders now controlled the city. It was an interesting change as I suddenly had to go out of the city to find safe haven.

Hrm... not sure that was suppose to happen? If you were in a city, there shouldn't be Neander forts floating above.. they should all be the same faction as the city. Also, takeovers should only change the faction of the building, not the city below... did you take out a Humoid base, making everyone hate you in the city below, perhaps?

I think I went to a Neander fort that was just out of the walls. There are several forts floating above...at least one that is within the walls and some are just outside.

I remember getting the mission from a humanoid inside the city and killing Neanders in the fort. I got credit for completing the quest. When I went back down, the turrets in the city were red and the place was filled with Neanders. Then I noticed that the symbols on the buildings had changed from the blue symbols to the pink symbols. I fled the city and found a building with a blue symbol to take shelter in.

I reloaded the game just now and went back into the city to check. They are definitely Neanders in there, now (four legs). The symbols are all pink (Does this signify Neander or does it just signify enemy territory?). I wondered if I might be in a different city somehow, but on the map, it says the X and Y are both 0....so it should be the starting city.

Also, at some point I had flown back up to the fort and a humanoid had spawned inside it...it was still under humanoid control at that time. But now I can't find the fort anymore... I'm not sure if it flipped back to Neander or if I'm just looking in the wrong place.

Perhaps I could send you the save file?

Yeah, upload the save file to MediaFire so I can take a look. The faction "take over" should only toggle from Neadner -> Humoid (if that was your quest).. I'm not sure why it would also convert Humoid -> Neander, and also covert the whole city below!

I had a similar thing going on while capturing forts outside of the city. I cleared two forts and then took the quest for taking one of them over. I went into one building, used the coputer and both of the forts changed colors.

I would suspect forts very close together will swap over, since there may be multiple forts within the same "chunk" -- I think this behavior is fair. However, changing over whole cities (especially to enemy factions) isn't correct behavior :P

Here is the save, titled Earth1

I'm up in a floating humoid fort near the city at the moment. While I'm guessing that there are Neander cities (I haven't been out very far yet), I take it that having the city at x-0, y-0 in control of the Neanders is strange?

Update: I just played for a few hours. I came back to the city after exploring outside for a bit and it is now back under humoid control.
