Follow your heart, I was a website and software programmer for 14 years, I hated it! I always wanted to make games. Although it's been tough, i've never been happier Do what you want to do, it's one third of your life, so enjoy it. |

Making a game is all about patience and dedication typically you have something you want to project or share. First you will get no where as a wannabe pick something up and try it. Making a game is first an exciting task then becomes something tedious that you will want to quit, to finish a game often requires you to be patient and to have allot of free time. You should have basic skills of course I learned allot from web, app, and flash development. I would recomend getting flash or flashpunk and making small games with that to get a feel for development, programming, and making assets. The first step is picking something up though and you will learn allot by tinkering and by trying new things do not be scared that you will break the game or the engine its all part of the learning experiance to fix bugs and to try out new features. Best of luck to you - Cheers Edited by: ENP |
