I need an advice on Unity 5 physics Thread

Hi guys, me and my friend are developing couch/online multiplayer game called Shield Bangers for a while.

The game concept is vikings playing football on frozen lake. I am doing the programming part, my problem is, that I cannot achieve good sense of control and ball handling. Do you have any tips for this kind of physics usage? It would be really helpful
