Prehistory
The members of Rlyeh Industry met at the university while pursuing a computer science degree. Sharing a common interest in gaming they did some 3D rendering projects together including a real-time snowfall simulation project as their master's thesis.

RPG Scribe
In 2010 the friends turned their attention to the emerging iOS platform and formed a team under 'Rlyeh Industry' name. Despite the initial intention to develop a game, the team's first commercial project turned out to be an app named 'RPG Scribe' (initially 'DnD Scribe') - a digital character sheet for Dungeons & Dragons RPG. The project was meant as a warm up, a fun and relatively easy way to get to know the platform. After an enthusiastic reception the team kept improving the app with multiple subsequent updates and an eventual iPad version. This unexpected longevity of RPG Scribe kept the small team too occupied for a time to pursue its initial mission.

Chromaticon
In 2013 Rlyeh Industry finally started the development of their own game. RPG Scribe reached enough maturity to be given a lower priority. Despite previous experiences with 3D rendering, the team settled for a 2D game which made the project more manageable and allowed to focus on gameplay design and visual style rather than technology. With the goal to create a distinctive game, rich in its simplicity with minimalistic yet unique style, the Chromaticon was conceived and is now ready to be released in early 2015! (team is now busy making offerings to Shub-Niggurath)
