Rabid Weresquirrel Studios is dedicated to good clean mayhem-based fun. Our first and utmost goal is to bring the art form of videogames as story-driven masterpieces with gorgeous scenery and… Honestly we're going to using a lot of explosion and particle effects, anything to get the blood pumping. We are producing an MOBA that hopes to bridge the vile toxicity of team-based games with the rewards of doing something truly amazing together. But how can you trust random strangers in a game to cooperate with you? Well for one, you two have a lot in common. You both have hands or some way to hold and operate a mouse and keyboard. You both are playing videogames and the same one at that. And I can bet you both like watching Netflix late at night with a jar of peanut butter or peanut butter byproducts and cradling an infant goat in your arms while softly singing Safety Dance and trimming your hair for a ritual to some ancient milkman god by the name of Mymilkisdelicious. That last one, we can prove. We have cameras. We know.

Boring mumbo-jumbo now. Rabid Weresquirrel Studios was started July 18th, 2014, on an Acer laptop sitting on the end of a table-sized desk while listening to Queen. It was born as name to the idea of myself, Lukas Anderson, to back the other idea of my mind's devious creation called Combo. Combo is the MOBA that was previously mentioned. The idea for Combo came from long days of playing Dota 2 and Strife and thinking, these are fun but… They just don't hit teamwork right. At first, fear struck that Combo was a horrid idea as people wouldn't want to work as a team with random players or that they couldn't work as a team with random people. BUT I WAS WRONG! I met a group of Dota 2 players from Eastern Europe on night and after playing for a bit we started a party and teamed up. We didn't know each other in the slightest and barely knew each other's languages or cultures and yet we could all play together as a machine of unison-like hive mind awesome collectiveness. But the game's mechanics and serious penalties for dying held us back from truly harnessing this single embodiment we created. So I took a look at the issue and found it wasn't just last-hit system or lanes that caused divisions: it was the very infrastructure. The characters' abilities could work together but they weren't tailored to be teams. Thus a system of instead of not thirty or more characters but two was born. Two unique plays styles that branch into various types with respective benefits and disadvantages. Casters and Hexers were said play styles. Casters focusing on spell casting and nuking by using different Attunements (Fire, Water, Poison, and Earth) in combination to alter the focus and attributes of powers. This idea came in part from Invoker from Dota 2. Hexers are the counterpart, using buffs and hexes to boost allies powers and their own or weak their enemies. They can work together to stack massive amounts of hexes then finish it off with a super powered surge. But buffs can be turned to hexes by enemy Hexers, so be wary. The game will be host to three unique maps and an abundance of game modes. The maps will include a 6v6 three-lane, 6v6 or 4v4 two-lane, and lastly a map dedicated to events/coop against bots in challenge modes that will scale based on your account level and offer Favor Tokens to be used for new cosmetics or boosters as the game progresses in development.
