WoP - Where is my standalone? news

In the last weeks there unfortunately been a couple of problems, resulting in some things being delayed again. Our site has been down for a some time, and some stuff hasn't really worked out like we planned. It was hoped to release the first standalone version at the end of the year, and three months ago that looked like it really could happen, but unfortunately at the moment it's not even ready for testing. It makes us want to tear our hair out...

Then shortly before Christmas, a lot stuff begun to come together, and now the members are looking forward to receiving the files they need to tailor their already prepared maps for the standalone version, which should begin by the end of the week. With the basic available to us, the project speed up again, and light will finally appear at the end of the tunnel. Sadly we only have a few members left in the team, as some have decided on a change of direction, and we has (so far) been unable to find suitable replacements, and that's annoying, because it has compounded the delays.

However, the core team won't give up, we will finish this thing, and our new goal is to have everything ready in March, at which point we want to release the standalone. We are building upon that now and the chances are more than good. To show that we are working on the game itself and are not just brushing up the maps we got the following two screenshots for you. One shows a new disintegration effect after a frag, the other shows the new berserker mode, triggered by five punchy frags...
